Football Recap: Middle Creek Takes Down Southern Alamance in a Playoff Battle + How To Watch

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Middle Creek walked away with it. They pulled ahead with a 31-30 photo finish over the Southern Alamance Patriots on Friday. The win was familiar territory for the Mustangs, who have now won four contests in a row.

Lex Sevilla had a dynamite game, throwing for 342 yards and three TDs. Those 342 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Middle Creek also got help from Tracy Harrington Jr, who showed off his sure hands for 95 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Southern Alamance still got an impressive performance from Jacob Alexander, who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Alexander is becoming a predictor of the Patriots' success: when he posts at least 80 rushing yards the team is 7-1 (and 1-3 when he doesn't).

Middle Creek's record is now 9-2. As for Southern Alamance, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Middle Creek is taking a road trip to face off against Northern Nash at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southern Alamance does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
