Football Recap: Middle Creek Triumphs + How To Watch

Middle Creek extended their postseason success on Friday against Southern Alamance. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 31-30 victory over the Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Lex Sevilla had an outrageously good game as he threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns. Those 342 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Tracy Harrington Jr was another key player, picking up 95 receiving yards and one TD.

Middle Creek didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Honor Paxton and Nicolas Bocciardi. Middle Creek got some further help from Connor Smith: he made 11 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Despite the loss, Southern Alamance still got an impressive performance from Jacob Alexander, who rushed for 135 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Alexander has become a key player for the Patriots: the team is 7-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

Middle Creek's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Southern Alamance, they moved to 8-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Middle Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 31-24 victory against Northern Nash on the 28th. Southern Alamance does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
