Baseball Recap: North Raleigh Christian Academy Find Success

North Raleigh Christian Academy came out on top against Cary Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive 11-run fifth inning. The Knights' pitchers stepped up to hand the Chargers a 13-0 shutout. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

The team relied heavily on David Mertz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Banks Woody, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

North Raleigh Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cary Academy only posted a batting average of .067.

North Raleigh Christian Academy's record now sits at 14-5. As for Cary Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Raleigh Christian Academy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Raleigh HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on the 29th. As for Cary Academy, they will host GRACE Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
