Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Takes a Loss

Heartland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They received a blow as they fell 29-12 to the Crosspointe Christian Academy Panthers. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Allie Schellenberg was the offensive standout of the match as she went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points and four steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Sharpe, who posted five points and four steals.

Heartland Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

Heartland Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Indiana Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on February 20th. As for Crosspointe Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-14 victory against Bethesda Christian on the 3rd.
