Basketball Recap: Palmetto Scholars Academy Takes a Loss

Palmetto Scholars Academy lost against Cathedral Academy back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix were beaten by the Cathedral Academy Generals 65-23. The loss leaves the Phoenix without a win on the season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cathedral Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bryce Ward, who posted 16 points along with five boards and three steals. Ward's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Ajani Gresham was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Palmetto Scholars Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cathedral Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Palmetto Scholars Academy will welcome St. John's at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmetto Scholars Academy is facing St. John's at the right time seeing as St. John's is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Cathedral Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 69-56 loss against Oceanside Collegiate Academy on the 11th.
