Tri-State Christian starts season with defeat on the road

Recap: Tri-State Christian Crusaders vs. Tome Titans

Tri-State Christian kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell 5-2 to the Tome Titans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Tri-State Christian of the 9-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

For Tome's part, Nolan Peel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Peel was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Blaine Pendergraft was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri-State Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greenwood Mennonite at 4:00 p.m. on April 9th. As for Tome, they will head out on the road to square off against Delaware Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
