Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Avoca Central). They secured a 57-53 W over the Arkport Central Bluejays on Friday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while the Bluejays are ranked 192nd).

Avoca Central's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for Arkport Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-2.

The future could be bright for both Avoca Central and Arkport Central: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Avoca Central will try to hand Hammondsport their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Arkport Central will look to extend Alfred-Almond's nine-game losing streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
