Basketball Recap: Franklin Academy Takes a Loss

Franklin Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Prairie View Academy Spartans 78-10. The matchup marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Prairie View Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mason Tullos led the charge by going 5 of 8 on his way to 13 points and six steals. That's the most steals Tullos has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Stokes, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Franklin Academy's record now sits at 0-6. As for Prairie View Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season.

Franklin Academy will face off against Hillcrest Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.5 points per game this season. As for Prairie View Academy, they will take on Porter's Chapel Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
