Volleyball Recap: Victor Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Emma Graney and Vanessa Phan

Victor and Irondequoit squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Victor had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. The Blue Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Victor took Irondequoit into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking three-point loss. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-15, 14-25, 19-25, 15-12.

Victor's loss came despite strong showings from Vanessa Phan and Emma Graney. Phan had nine digs and two aces, while Graney had three aces and two assists. Graney has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Aleah Nolan had a dynamite game For Irondequoit., getting 26 digs and three aces. With that strong performance, Nolan is now averaging an impressive 10.4 digs per game.

Victor's defeat ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-8-4. As for Irondequoit, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 24-5-3.

Victor does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Irondequoit, they will take on Webster Schroeder at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
