Basketball Recap: Southwestern Randolph Gets the Win

There's no place like home for Southwestern Randolph, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They escaped with a win on Saturday against the Trinity Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 61-60. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Walker Parrish, who posted 22 points. Parrish is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Nazir Staton was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Southwestern Randolph's win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Trinity, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Southwestern Randolph will square off against Chatham Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Trinity, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Providence Grove at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Providence Grove has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 197 points over their last three contests.
