Basketball Recap: North Callaway Comes Up Short

North Callaway played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by the Hallsville Indians 70-29. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Indians are ranked 29th).

North Callaway's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Blevins, who posted ten points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Clayton Moore, who earned eight points and five rebounds.

North Callaway has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Hallsville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Callaway will head out to square off against South Callaway at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hallsville, they will venture away from home to take on Moberly at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hallsville has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 213 points over their last three games.
