Softball Recap: Murphy Comes Up Short

Murphy fell victim to Swain County and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Maroon Devils by a score of 2-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Murphy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julia Dockery, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Murphy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Swain County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.

Murphy has already played their next matchup, a 5-2 win against Cherokee on the 24th. As for Swain County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-1 victory against Hayesville on the 25th.
