Volleyball Game Preview: Willow Canyon Wildcats vs. Sunrise Mountain Mustangs

Willow Canyon is 1-7 against Sunrise Mountain since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Willow Canyon's win against Kellis wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cougars 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Willow Canyon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 23-25, 22-25, 25-20, 26-24, 15-12.

Noah Caplan had a dynamite game, getting 29 digs and one assist. Those 29 digs gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Greenway on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Willow Canyon's record now sits at 17-7. As for Sunrise Mountain, their record is now 13-11.
