With a playoff win on the line, Clear Springs rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top against the Dobie Longhorns by a score of 8-3. Winning may never get old, but the Chargers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Grace Hirst looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Makenzie Thomas was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alana Strever, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Clear Springs kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive games.
Clear Springs' record is now 21-6. As for Dobie, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-13.
