            Basketball Recap: Calhan Bulldogs vs. Miami-Yoder Buffaloes        
        
		
        
        
            You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Calhan  on Friday. They were the clear victor by  a  44-22 margin over the Miami-Yoder Buffaloes. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Buffaloes recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  win against them.
Calhan found their leader in sophomore  Savannah Stewart, who  went 7-for-14  en route to 17  points in addition to five  boards and three  steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for  Stewart. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kailey Peterson, who  posted six  points and 11  rebounds.

 Calhan  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 16  offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  pulled down at least nine  offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive  contests.
 Miami-Yoder lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Natalie Tinoco, who  dropped  a double-double with 12  boards and 14  steals. She is  on a roll when it comes to  steals, as she's  now  grabbed two or more in each of the last 20 games she's  played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was  Madison McKnight, who  earned four points along with seven  rebounds and five  steals.
Calhan pushed their record up to 13-8 with the  victory, which was their sixth straight  at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points over those games. As for Miami-Yoder,  they are  on  a  three-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 8-11.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Calhan will venture away from home to  challenge Simla  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Miami-Yoder, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Wiley  at 3:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
