Volleyball Recap: Pojoaque Valley Comes Up Short

Pojoaque Valley managed to slip by Bernalillo the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Elks/Elkettes lost 3-0 to the Spartans on Tuesday. The Elks/Elkettes just can't catch a break and have now endured 14 losses in a row dating back to last season.

While Pojoaque Valley was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bernalillo's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-17.

Ella Darnell was the offensive standout of the contest as she had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave her a new career-high.

Pojoaque Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bernalillo, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pojoaque Valley will take on Robertson at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bernalillo, they will face off against Gallup at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
