Basketball Recap: Worthington Comes Up Short

Worthington lost against Windom back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Worthington Trojans were outmatched by the Windom Eagles and fell 99-58. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 278th, while the Eagles are ranked 68th).

Worthington dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.3 points per game. As for Windom, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Worthington will be home for the holidays to greet Waseca at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Worthington is facing Waseca at the right time seeing as Waseca is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Windom, they will welcome Redwood Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Redwood Valley will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Windom surely won't give up without a fight.
