Volleyball Recap: Germantown Takes a Loss

Germantown was the 3-0 winner over Madison Central when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mavericks fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Mavericks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Germantown started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 10-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-9.

Germantown's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. As for Madison Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Germantown is set to face off against their familiar foe Murrah at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Madison Central will challenge rival Oxford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
