Basketball Game Preview: Freedom Eagles vs. Gar-Field Red Wolves

Having just played yesterday, the Freedom Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Gar-Field Red Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Freedom has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 13.

Freedom is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell to Mountain View 74-70.

Meanwhile, Gar-Field can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They walked away with a 62-53 victory over Massaponax.

Gar-Field found their leader in sophomore Jonathan Jason Bell, who went 9 of 19 on his way to 22 points and seven steals. The matchup was Bell's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijhah Walden, who posted ten points.

Gar-Field was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Gar-Field's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-8. As for Freedom, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.

Freedom was taken down by Gar-Field 72-37 in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bell, who went 10 for 14 en route to 22 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Now that Freedom knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
