Plainfield Central is 8-2 against Romeoville since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wildcats will host the Spartans at 4:30 p.m. Plainfield Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Plainfield Central is returning to their home field after beating Plainfield East on theirs, despite the fact Plainfield East has dominated at home this season. The Wildcats walked away with an 8-5 win over the Bengals on Monday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Bengals on their field since May 11, 2022.

Jamie Crawford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

At the plate, Sophia Patterson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Romeoville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Plainfield South.

Romeoville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lillian Roberts, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Plainfield Central now has a winning record of 13-12-1. As for Romeoville, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Everything went Plainfield Central's way against Romeoville in their previous matchup back in April, as Plainfield Central made off with a 9-0 victory. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Spartans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
