Baseball Game Preview: Piper Bengals vs. Hollywood Hills Spartans

The Piper Bengals will venture away from home to face off against the Hollywood Hills Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Piper is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.

Piper made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McArthur, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Piper never let McArthur get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bengals.

Julius Torres made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. Torres was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Piper let Valentino Pupo and Oscar Muniz run wild. Pupo scored four runs and stole Three bases. while going 3-for-3, while Muniz scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Pupo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Demetrius Angeletos was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Piper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Meanwhile, Hollywood Hills lost 18-3 to Boyd Anderson on Thursday.

Piper's record now sits at 5-2-1. As for Hollywood Hills, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Everything went Piper's way against Hollywood Hills in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Piper made off with a 13-5 win. Does Piper have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hollywood Hills turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
