Basketball Recap: Cristo Rey Comes Up Short

Cristo Rey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 48-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cathedral Panthers. Cristo Rey lost against Cathedral in their previous head to head back in December of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 89-42 score last time.

Cristo Rey's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Cathedral, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cristo Rey will take on Martha's Vineyard Regional at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cathedral, they will venture away from home to square off against Archbishop Williams at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
