Softball Recap: Fort Myers' Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fort Myers entered their tilt with Cypress Lake on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Panthers 12-6. That's more bragging rights for the Green Wave, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Faith Fazzone was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Fazzone was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Amira Peterson was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and two doubles while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sage Rodmyre, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Fort Myers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fort Myers' record now sits at 15-5-1. As for Cypress Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Fort Myers and Cypress Lake will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Green Wave see the field they'll take on Ida Baker at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Cypress Lake, their break will end when they face Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
