Football Recap: Elkin Takes a Loss

Elkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the North Wilkes Vikings and fell 52-14. The Buckin' Elks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-0.

Elkin's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for North Wilkes, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Elkin will challenge West Wilkes at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blackhawks' defense has only allowed 10.1 points per game this season, so the Buckin' Elks' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for North Wilkes, they will face off against Starmount at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
