Baseball Recap: Vandalia Christian Find Success

It's playoff time, and Vandalia Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They skirted past the Union Grove Christian Patriots 1-0. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Patriots last Saturday, they had to take a 10-6 loss.

Nate Collins was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Vandalia Christian's win bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Union Grove Christian, they moved to 11-5 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Vandalia Christian nor the Patriots have any future games scheduled.
