Softball Recap: Cabrini Monarchs vs. Dearborn Pioneers

Cabrini entered their tilt with Dearborn with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Dearborn Pioneers on Tuesday. This was payback for Cabrini, who suffered a 17-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Brianna Manning made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off eight hits. Manning has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive pitching appearances. Manning was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and a double.

Dearborn will take on Edison Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
