Basketball Recap: Sofia Barreras' Big Game Can't Quite Lead New Mexico Military Institute over Dexter

New Mexico Military Institute was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 48-38 to the Dexter Demons. The Colts were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Demons earlier this season, when they won 57-52.

New Mexico Military Institute's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sofia Barreras, who posted ten points. Another player making a difference was Nevaeh Clark, who scored nine points.

New Mexico Military Institute's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Dexter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-10.

While New Mexico Military Institute had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
