Softball Recap: Lakeland Takes a Loss

Lakeland fell victim to Hickory and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 11-0 to the Hawks. The Cavaliers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Lakeland's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Hickory, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lakeland will square off against Kecoughtan at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cavaliers will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matches. As for Hickory, they will take on Grassfield at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Hawks have won 11 straight at home dating back to last season, while the Grizzlies won five straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
