Softball Recap: Campolindo Takes a Loss

Campolindo lost against Acalanes last Thursday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Campolindo lost 18-7 to Acalanes. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 11 runs.

Clara Hwang was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Maya Hammerman also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Even though they lost, Campolindo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

This is the second loss in a row for Campolindo and nudges their season record down to 1-5. As for Acalanes, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Campolindo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 24-9 victory against Ygnacio Valley on the 26th. As for Acalanes, they have also already played their next contest, a 9-5 win against Las Lomas on the 27th.
