Basketball Game Preview: Briggs Bruins vs. Eastmoor Academy Warriors

The Briggs Bruins are taking a road trip to square off against the Eastmoor Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Briggs has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 20.

Last Friday, Briggs came up short against Independence and fell 57-49. The Bruins were down 41-19 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Eastmoor Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past Whitehall-Yearling with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 75-57. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Warriors as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Eastmoor Academy's win came from a few key players Briggs will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was King Moody, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JD Broomfield, who went 5 for 9 en route to 12 points.

Briggs' defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Eastmoor Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-10.

Briggs didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Eastmoor Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Briggs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
