Baseball Recap: Cheney Takes a Loss

Cheney lost against Gonzaga Prep back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Blackhawks fell 8-4 to the Bullpups.

Shawn Verduzco was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. Dawes Hanson also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Cheney's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Gonzaga Prep, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

While Cheney had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
