Soccer Recap: Western Alamance Starts Season with Win at Home

Western Alamance took care of business in their home opener on Thursday (and then some). Their defense stepped up to hand the Graham Red Devils a 9-0 shutout. The Warriors found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: three Western Alamance players were handed yellow cards.

Their offense was hitting Graham from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Grant Bacchus led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Western Alamance will head out to challenge Asheboro at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Graham, they will head out on the road to face off against Williams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
