Baseball Recap: Oroville's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

Oroville fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Manson on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 12-11. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 11-4.

Kane Booker was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Booker was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs. Booker is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Owen Wills was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Noah Harrel also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Oroville fell to 6-1. As for Manson, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

The teams wasted no time getting back out on the field as they've already faced off again: they played to a 7-7 draw later that day.
