Football Recap: Leake Academy Piles Up the Points Against Bowling Green

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leake Academy). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bowling Green Buccaneers 42-3. Considering the Rebels have won three games by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leake Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Garrett Adcock, who rushed for 91 yards and two TDs on only ten carries. The Rebels also got help from Easton Page, who showed off his sure hands for 91 receiving yards.

The victory (which was Leake Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.7 points on average over those games. As for Bowling Green, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Leake Academy will venture away from home to face off against Canton Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bowling Green, they will welcome Centreville Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests.
