Baseball Recap: Cedar Falls to Moapa Valley in First Game of Season

Cedar kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They came up short against the Moapa Valley Pirates, falling 10-4. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Cedar saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karson Duncan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave Duncan a new career-high.

Moapa Valley pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Cedar will face off against South Sevier at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Moapa Valley, they will challenge Boulder City at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Boulder City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
