It was fun while it lasted, but South Fayette's undefeated season came to an end after six games on Sunday. They lost to the Moon Area Tigers at home by a 46-29 margin. The Lions were red-hot offensively headed into the match (they scored no less than 55 points in the six games prior) but the Tigers' defense proved too tough.

Having lost for the first time this season, South Fayette fell to 6-1. As for Moon Area, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2.

South Fayette and Moon Area should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. South Fayette (ranked 36th) will meet Franklin Regional (ranked 209th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Moon Area will take on Bishop Canevin at 8:00 p.m. on Monday up 267 places (53 vs. 320).
