Recap: Knightdale Knights vs. Broughton Capitals

The Knightdale Knights were the 58-32 winner over the Broughton Capitals when they last played one another back in December of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. Knightdale was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 44-43 to the Capitals. Knightdale has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Knightdale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Melody Bryant, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Watkins, who scored 13 points along with three steals.

Broughton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kalajah Wright led the charge by scoring 16 points along with five steals. Wright hasn't dropped below three steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Kendall Walpole, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Knightdale's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Broughton, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.

Knightdale won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Millbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 last Tuesday. As for Broughton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Enloe comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
