Haverford put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against the Penncrest Lions by a score of 7-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Fords also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Gavin McClafferty tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shane Durkan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Ryan Cassidy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Haverford pushed their record up to 10-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Penncrest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
