Soccer Game Preview: Xavier Prep vs. Rancho Mirage

Xavier Prep is 2-8 against Rancho Mirage since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Xavier Prep Saints will be playing at home against the Rancho Mirage Rattlers at 5:30 p.m.

Xavier Prep fell victim to Arrowhead Christian and their airtight defense two weeks ago. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Eagles an easy 6-0 win. While losing is never fun, the Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 1080th, while the Eagles are ranked 375th).

Meanwhile, Rancho Mirage entered their tilt with Wiseburn- Da Vinci on Saturday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They ended the year with a bang, routing Wolves 4-1.

Rancho Mirage hit Wiseburn- Da Vinci with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jerome Carter (2), Jose Antonio Guerrero, and Jesus Gutierrez.

Xavier Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-10-1. As for Rancho Mirage, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2-3.

Xavier Prep might still be hurting after the 7-0 loss they got from Rancho Mirage when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Xavier Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
