Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Cornerstone Charter Academy was the 70-67 winner over Orangewood Christian when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Ducks took a 76-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams on Thursday. The Ducks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Cornerstone Charter Academy still got an impressive performance from Derick Augustin, who shot 58% from the field on his way to 31 points along with five assists and four steals. Dominick Soto was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 12 points and six boards.

Orangewood Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Will Vargas out in front who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Those 19 points gave Vargas a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Lawhorn, who shot 75% from the field en route to 18 points and five steals.

Cornerstone Charter Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Orangewood Christian, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
