Basketball Game Preview: Jimtown Jimmies vs. Fairfield Falcons

The Jimtown Jimmies will head out on the road to take on the Fairfield Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Jimtown sitting on three straight victories and Fairfield on four.

Jimtown took a 35-point loss the last time they faced off against NorthWood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Jimmies had just enough and edged out the Panthers 49-47. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Jimmies have posted since January 31st.

Jimtown found their leader in sophomore Zander Whitaker, who went 9-for-11 en route to 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Whitaker. Another player making a difference was Jackson Woolwine, who posted ten points.

Meanwhile, Fairfield hadn't done well against NorthWood recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Falcons snuck past the Panthers with a 47-42 victory.

Jimtown's record is now 5-1. As for Fairfield, their record now sits at 4-0.

Jimtown couldn't quite finish off Fairfield in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 and fell 48-45. Can the Jimmies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
