Softball Recap: Alexandria-Monroe Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Alexandria-Monroe got themselves on the board against Tipton on Thursday, but Tipton never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Blue Devils with a sharp 11-0 win. Considering the Tigers have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Jacklynn Hosier, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Riley Thomas was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Alexandria-Monroe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two batters in five consecutive contests.

Alexandria-Monroe pushed their record up to 17-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Tipton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-17 record this season.

Alexandria-Monroe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tipton, they will face off against Peru at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
