Marion waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Mt. Vernon Mustangs with a sharp 11-5 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Marion's victory bumped their record up to 13-1. As for Mt. Vernon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Marion will challenge Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Webster City at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lynx's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
