Volleyball Recap: Paetow's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

Paetow was the 2-0 winner over Mayde Creek when they last played one another on Saturday, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams on Tuesday. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Rams 25-14 in the first set.

Paetow started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-21.

Arayla Scranton paced Paetow's offense, picking up 13 kills. Scranton got some help from Sofia Moctezuma and her 29 assists. Scranton also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Francesca Easterbrook, racking up two apiece.

Among those leading the charge was Kaleah Lee, who had 17 digs and two aces. What's more, she posted two assists, the most she's had over her last eight matchups.

The defeat snapped Paetow's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-8 record. As for Mayde Creek, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paetow will venture away from home to square off against Morton Ranch at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Mayde Creek, they will head out to challenge Clear Lake at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
