Basketball Recap: Kimberly Beats Appleton North for Their Third Straight Win

Kimberly extended their postseason success on Saturday against Appleton North. They secured a 73-68 W over the Appleton North Lightning. The win was all the more spectacular given the Papermakers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Lightning are ranked 12th).

The victory was the third in a row for Kimberly, bringing their record for this year to 10-12. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.0 points over those games. As for Appleton North, they moved to 13-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Kimberly will face off against Kaukauna at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kaukauna knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 matchups -- so hopefully Kimberly likes a good challenge. Appleton North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
