Softball Recap: Berkeley Springs Comes Up Short

Berkeley Springs came into this matchup off a tough 16-run loss on Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Fort Hill Sentinels by a score of 12-10 on Saturday. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Sentinels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2018.

Payton Mizell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Molly Boyles, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

Berkeley Springs' loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Fort Hill, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7.

Berkeley Springs has already played their next game, an 8-7 victory against Hancock on the 14th. As for Fort Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, an 8-1 defeat against Allegany on the 14th.
