Basketball Recap: Franklin Christian Academy Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Franklin Christian Academy faced off against Zion Christian Academy on Friday. The Franklin Christian Academy Falcons received a blow as they fell 83-69 to the Zion Christian Academy Eagles. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Gabe Davenport was his usual excellent self, going 17 of 31 on his way to 49 points along with six assists and six boards for Zion Christian Academy. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Davenport has scored at least a third of Zion Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Woolf, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.

Franklin Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Zion Christian Academy, their win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Franklin Christian Academy will host Boyd Christian at 4:30 p.m. on December 14th. As for Zion Christian Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 70-49 defeat against Mt. Pleasant on the 10th.
