Football Recap: Mount Dora Falls to Boone in First Game of Season

Mount Dora unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 46-14 loss at the hands of the Boone Braves. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 274th, while the Braves are ranked 117th).

Although Mount Dora took the loss, they still got scores from Westin Geiger and AJ Staples.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Dora is headed away from home for the first time to challenge East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Boone, they will head out to face off against Hagerty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
