Softball Recap: Doddridge County Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

On Wednesday Doddridge County's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Lincoln Cougars. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Brooke Dehaven and Olivia See did most of the damage at the plate: Dehaven went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base, while See scored three runs while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave See a new career-high. Hadley Ross was another key player, scoring a run while going 4-for-5.

Doddridge County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .444 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Doddridge County pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Doddridge County will host Ritchie County at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lincoln, they will take on East Fairmont at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lincoln is facing East Fairmont at the right time seeing as East Fairmont is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
