Preview: Southwest Patriots vs. Central Chargers
After three games on the road, Southwest is heading back home. They will take on the Central Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Southwest has not done well against Academy for Classical Education recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Southwest took down Academy for Classical Education 37-21. The win was just what Southwest needed coming off of a 57-22 loss in their prior match.
Southwest had a senior duo take command as Lonnasha Graddick scored 22 points along with six rebounds and two steals and Mohogany Tharpe dropped a double-double on 12 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Graddick has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Central stacked a 16th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-36 margin over Spencer. Winning may never get old, but Central sure is getting used to it with their 13th in a row.
Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season.
Southwest was dealt a bruising 64-11 loss at the hands of Central when the teams last played back in January. Will Southwest have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other basketball content.
